Reviews
Excellent food. Extremely helpful staff who were friendly and couldn’t do enough. Sorted out an issue with window straight away. Lovely ambience. Would definitely recommend and stay again, if in the area.
We visited the Redesdale Arms following a recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed. Our room on the first floor of the courtyard building was immaculate, spacious and well fitted. There were plenty of milk, coffee and tea …
Enjoyed a two day and 2 night stay. The central location and wonderful service made this a great stay, both relaxing and enjoyable in the warm and friendly atmosphere of a local pub feel. The room was ample for our needs with clean and warm room with bathroom and shower.
Just back from a weekend overnight stop at The Redesdale Arms. The hotel/bars/restaurant were all busy which speaks volumes. All staff we met were courteous, professional, yet have a personality and most importantly a sense of humour. Highly recommended hotel. The room we stayed in had clearly been subject to a recent refurbishment and was done to an excellent standard showing the owners are clearly prepared to invest in the place. Our evening meal was delightful and such a nice variety on the menu, could have had one of everything! Even the custard on my crumble was heated to 64degrees Celsius, perfection! ;) Thanks guys
Needed somewhere warm and providing light lunch.

Good real fire
Staff welcoming.

Not cheap but atmosphere and presentation of food make it a good place to visit
Recommended by another establishment not serving food this evening. Great food, I have to say the lamb shank just fell off the bone with amazing flavour, friendly staff and the biggest must for us dog friendly. Biscuits and water provided in front of the log fire without asking.
Lovely stay in this beautiful, perfectly located and characterful hotel, with friendly and attentive staff and excellent food. My husband unfortunately felt unwell during our stay, so we couldn’t properly take advantage of everything offer. We’ve therefore booked a repeat trip in a few months time.
We loved it here, we went for dinner 3 nights in a row and we like variety. Due to the specials and a nice menu, we couldn't help but go back.
The cheese soufflé, fish specials, duck, lamb, fish and chips and burgers were all amazing and would highly recommend eating here. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing.
After a long day at work I was ready to eat a nice meal!
The waiters were very nice and attentive.
The squid was very tasty!
The lamb was nicely cooked.
I was disappointed with the fish at the end when I saw that it hasn’t been gutted, by then I had eating most of the fish.
There's good and bad, hence the average star review. The good? The food, service, and location are fantastic! Parking was super easy and as a base for touring, it couldn't be a better spot. The bad? The room was not as warm and inviting as the photo suggested. The bed was absolutely dreadful! Lumpy and uncomfortable! Two nights of backaches! The bathroom equally dreadful. The shower was worse than the one in my camper (mildew added to the experience). If the owner would change out the mattress in room 22, I think I would tolerate the bath just fine and add another star.
